Racing under the burgee of the Norfolk Punt Club, the Athene Cup river race will be held on 11th October, starting at Thurne Mouth.
The Athene Cup is one of the most historical in the class collection of trophies, and has been raced for since 1929.
Briefing will be at 12.30 with the race starting at 13.00.
Sailing up to St Benets, Womack and Upton and back to Thurne Mouth.
Boats can be launched at Oby Dyke for a small fee (£8), and they could be taken down on Friday and removed on Sunday if that helps.
It looks like a good contingent from Hickling will be going, and the club have kindly agreed to put on a tow from HSBC again - please contact John Parker for details.
Tea, cakes and prize giving immediately after the race. Two cups are being raced for - Athene Cup on handicap and the Blackbird Trophy for first over the water.
We need a minimum of four boats and rescue boats will be in attendance.
Please email or call Neville and Val by Wednesday evening 8th October to indicate that you will be attending (Please provide a phone number).
